You can run but you can't hide
What happens when The Past catches up with you and threatens to throw you into the Nile River? I don't know if I should even put up a struggle or should I just jump on my own accord. I have my own insecurities and recently history is trying to make a come back in my life. All the naughty things that I had done seem to creep back slowly on me. Maybe because it is year end when we do a quick review of how well we fare this year and whether that put us on the flight to heaven or rollercoaster to hell.
What if we met the ghosts of our past? How should I react? That is if I should react at all.
That EX-Boyfriend
There is no what-if here. I met him last month after 4 years of absolutely no contact. I used to worry about how I was supposed to react if I ever do met him on the streets. But it seems like it was unduly because he walked right past me without a glance. Like A total stranger. Which I gladly erased him from my past.
That Little Boy who used to sit beside you in Grade 6, whom got a crush on you, whom you got a crush on, whom your then best friend got a crush on.
This is one person that I will pretend not to know and walk gracefully past him. How can I possibly face him when I subjected him to all the verbal tortures. Because at that age you just have to hate the boys , and the boys hate you. Plus it is not nice to fight with your best friend over a boy.
That long-lost best friend
Yes, we were vrying for the same boy in Grade 6. Yes, we shared every secret we had back then. But no, I dont need her back in my life to remind what a dumb and dumber duo we had been, plus I had spotted that she chose to ignore me when she saw me on the streets. My ego can't possibly take this!
My father's sisters
They hate me and the feeling is mutual. There is no lost love between us. I have developed a uncanny ability to totally ignore them when I happened to see them on the streets. Well, it makes me really sick to know that we share half the same blood afterall. I'm sorry ,Dad, this is the best I can do.
The rest, like they say, is history.
